I, Kazi Mohammad Mortuza Ali, B.Com (Hons), M.Com, L.L.B got qualified as an Associate of Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII), London by examination in 1978 and graduated from Norwegian Shipping Academy, Oslo. I am presently working with Bangladesh Institute for Professional Development (BIPD) as Director General (DG). In recent past, I was the Chief Consultant of Prime Islami Life Insurance Limited and also the former Managing Director of the Company. I served as a Director (CEO) of Bangladesh Insurance Academy. I have worked with Bangladesh Shipping Corporation in different positions during 1974 to 1995.

I have served as a specialist member of the “Committee” formed by the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh for reforming Insurance Law and enacting new laws. I was also a member of the “Committee” formed by the Honorable President’s Secretariat of the Government of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh to investigate into an alleged “Insurance Claim & Maritime Fraud”.

I have provided Consultancy Service under Asian Development Bank (ADB) project as “Insurance Regulatory Specialist” for Enhancement of Governance and Capacity of Insurance Sector of Bangladesh.

I have presented several research papers on health insurance, micro-insurance and risk management in international seminars in Egypt, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, India, Australia, Netherlands, Japan, Indonesia and Bangladesh.

I received several awards including S.K. Desai Award from Indian Insurance Institute, New Delhi. Received World Leader Business Person Bizz Award 2013, 2014 & 2015 from WORLDCOB, Texas, USA and Best Manager Award from Europe Business Assembly (EBA), U.K. in 2013.

I have publications of more than 75 (seventy five) articles and 11 (Eleven) books/booklets so far.

Presently, I am working as legal Specialist in the Bangladesh Insurance Sector Development Project of the World Bank.
